A 7 session online directing course founded and led by JMK Directing Award winner Kalungi Ssebandeke whose debut production of Meetings by Mustapha Matura run at The Orange Tree Theatre in the UK starring Martina Laird, Kevin N Golding and Bethan Mary-James with the Arts Desk's 4 star review calling him a "talent to watch".

 

With over 14 hours of video and multiple tasks, the course aims to enhance participants’ understanding of the rehearsal process, from preparation, text analysis to directing actors for performance. Using skills used by leading directors such as Katie Mitchell, Matthew Xia and Monique Touko, each session will provide the necessary directing skills to collaborate effectively with cast and creatives.

 

This course is for aspiring and emerging Theatre Directors aged 18+ with a desire to get a clearer understanding of the skills and techniques used in the rehearsal process. A proficiency in English is essential in order to take part.
